About Perth
Perth has gained a well-earned reputation as an international meeting place. Arriving In Perth
Perth Airport is the international and regional gateway to Western Australia. Perth Airport is Australia's fourth busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. Located only 12 km north east of the heart of Perth, shuttle buses operate between the airport and Perth city, and hire cars and taxis are easily available. As a general guide, taxi charges from the airport terminals are:

Shopping
Perth has some fantastic boutiques, department stores and shopping centres:
- For designer labels visit King Street in the City or take a train to Claremont and make your way down Bayview Terrace.
- The larger shopping centres are at Karrinyup and Garden City, Booragoon. Both offer a full range of well-known outlets.
- For speciality shops and some great cafes visit historic Fremantle(a half hour train ride from Perth city centre) and Subiaco.

Kings Park Free Guided Walking Tours
Wander amongst the unique Western Australian flora and listen to the
birds - enjoy a little of the life of Kings Park. Your Guide will
highlight botanical features and other items of general interest on a

Aquarium of Western Australia
Overlooking the stunning sunset coast, this is the only place in Western Australia where you can come face to face with thousands of marine creatures, travel beneath three million litres of Indian Ocean without getting wet, touch stingrays, starfish and even a shark - all in one day! Admission prices: adult $20, children $12.50 (prices correct at time of printing, but subject to change).
Art Gallery of Western Australia, James St Mall, Perth
The Art Gallery of Western Australia is situated in the Perth Cultural Centre adjacent to the City train station and Northbridge, the City's cafe and restaurant district. Open daily between 10am and 5pm. Admission is free (an entry charge may apply to special exhibitions).
Perth Zoo, Mill Point Rd, South Perth
Perth Zoo is open from 9am to 5pm every day of the year, and for special evening events as advertised. It is a short drive from the CBD. For other transport options, including ferry, call Transperth on 13 62 13.
Perth Mint, East Perth
The Perth Mint is a world leader in the manufacture and marketing of precious metal coins, medallions and collectables. Housed in one of Australia's most elegant late-19th century heritage buildings, it is the nation's oldest operating mint and one of the oldest mints in the world still producing coins from its original premises. The Mint is a national award-winning tourist attraction, with more than 120,000 visitors a year. You can watch the Gold Pour and then take a tour through the Heritage Walk & Gold Exhibition.
Captain Cook Cruises, Pier 2, Barrack Square, Perth
This service offer visitors to Perth a wide selection of cruises on the
picturesque and calm waters of the Swan River. Captain Cook is famous
for wine cruises to the Swan Valley, visiting some of the best local
vineyards. Offering a range of prices and routes, you should find
something to suit your tastes.
